Abel Green of Springfield

Abel Green, 99, of Springfield, died Dec. 3rd at Wingate Nursing Home in West Springfield. He was the widower of Estelle (Mandel) Green. Born in New Haven, Conn., he was the son of the late Samuel and Pauline (Cohen) Green. He was raised in Springfield and graduated from Springfield Tech. in 1929. He worked as a dental lab technician for A.B.C. Dental Lab before opening his own, Green’s Dental Lab. He later went on to become partners in Associated Dental Lab. He was a member of the American Infantry Division and served throughout the Pacific during World War II. He was a member of Temple Beth El as well as the Shriners and the Independent City of Homes. He is survived by two brothers, Bernard Green of Great Barrington and Jules Green of Springfield; two nieces, Shelly and Tobi; and a nephew, Steven. He was predeceased by his brother, Leonard Green; and a nephew, Gordon.
