A Civil Rights Journey

The students are pictured here in the Rosa Parks Museum, which is built at the spot where Mrs. Parks refused to move to the back of the bus on December 1, 1955.

Over the last weekend in January, Rabbi Mark Shapiro and Sheila Shear led 24 Sinai Temple High School students on a civil rights journey in Alabama and Georgia.  The group visited Selma, Montgomery, Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia.  The itinerary traced aspects of the civil rights movement during the 1950’s and 1960’s.
