SPRINGFIELD – Rachel’s Table, a project of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts and WWLP-TV22, has hired Shira Atik as its new Special Projects Manager.
Atik, a former director of both the Young Leadership Program and the Community Relations Committee at the Jewish Federation, said she is thrilled to be working at Rachel’s Table. “There is so much wonderful work being done, but there is still so much more to do,” she said. “My priority right now is to develop the new kosher food program to ensure that kosher residents of Western Massachusetts also have access to food assistance. My family and I have been strong supporters of Rachel’s Table in the past, and it is a real privilege for me to work for such a good cause.”
Having an additional staff member, says Rachel Rubenstein, director of Rachel’s Table will enable the organization to strengthen existing programs and create new ones. “I couldn’t imagine having a better partner at Rachel’s Table,” she says. “Shira’s skill set, passion for helping the hungry and wisdom will be a great asset to expanding Rachel’s Table.”
