The Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts held Super Sunday on March 6. Dr. Michelle Anfang and Margie Berg co-chaired Super Sunday, which raised $61,398 for the 2011 Federation Annual Campaign.
This year, volunteers made calls from both the Upper Valley and Lower Valley locations—at the Federation’s office in the Springfield JCC and at Lander~GrinspoonAcademy in Northampton. More than 100 volunteers of all ages participated. This year, 371 pledges were made, including 107 new, first-time pledges.
The Federation Annual campaign provides support to local agencies, including the Hebrew High School of New England, Heritage Academy, Jewish Family Service, Lander~Grinspoon Academy, Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy, the Resource Center for Jewish Education, the Sandi Kupperman Learning Center at Temple Beth El, Sinai Temple Religious School, the Springfield JCC, and UMass Hillel; as well as national programs such as Birthright Israel, and helps Jews in need in Israel and in more than 70 countries around the world.
