Gerald “Jerry” B. Rubin

Gerald  “Jerry” B. Rubin of Longmeadow died June 8. Born in Springfield to the late Samuel and Bessie (Smith) Rubin, he was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He attended local schools and was a 1951 graduate of Classical High School. He worked for many years as a meat salesman at the former Springfield Beef, Lewis Beef and Copaco in Bloomfield, Conn. In the early 1990’s he went to work for Milton Bradley in East Longmeadow as an office Service Clerk. Upon his retirement in 2005, Jerry worked part time for Enterprise Car Company. He acted and directed in local community theater. He owned or ran several dinner theaters and performed in hundreds of shows. He is survived by his children, Rick and Cindy Rubin of Hampden, Sherry Rubin of Springfield and Robert Rubin of Wilbraham; his grandchildren Alexandra and Hannah Rubin of Hampden; his sister Irma Cohen of Agawam; two nephews and two nieces.
