Amy Meltzer Honored by Association of Jewish Libraries

NORTHAMPTON – “The Shabbat Princess,” by local author and educator Amy Meltzer, was named a Notable Book for Younger Readers by the 2012 Sydney Taylor Book Awards. The Sydney Taylor awards, administered by the Association of Jewish Libraries, honor children’s and Young Adult books of Jewish content. More than 100 books were considered for this prestigious honor.

Meltzer teaches Kindergaren at the Lander Grinspoon Academy in Northampton and is a recipient of a Grinspoon-Steinhardt National Award for Excellence in Jewish Education. Her first book, “A Mezuzah on the Door,” was published in 2008 and was also named a Notable Book by the Sydney Taylor Awards.
