Barbara “Bea” (Katz) Cagan, 82, of Springfield, died Jan. 27. She was the widow of Robert Cagan. She was the daughter of the late Jacob Katz and Rose (Krakov) Katz. She was employed for many years as a Clerk Typist/Secretary for the City of Springfield School Department, working most of her years at the Dryden Veterans Memorial School in Springfield. She was a volunteer in the school’s library and at many other organizations in the community. She is survived by a daughter, Judy (Cagan) Berger and son-law, Richard Berger, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla; two sons, Kenneth Cagan and daughter-in-law, Sophia (Bacall) Caga, of Coral Springs, Fla., and Steven Cagan of Efrat, Israel; and three grandchildren Jeremy Berger, of Westford, VT and Zachary Cagan and Brianna Cagan of Coral Springs, Fla. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Rebecca Gayle Berger; a brother, Bernard Katz; and a sister, Emma Levin.
