Community Mitzvah Day April 29

Community Mitzvah Day

SPRINGFIELD — Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring a community-wide Mitzvah Day on Sunday, April 29.

A wide variety of projects at Jewish and non-Jewish educational and social service agencies throughout the greater Springfield area will be offered, some of which will be appropriate for all ages.  Both indoor and outdoor projects are planned.

“We are excited to offer this opportunity to people who want to have a one day, hands-on volunteer experience.  We hope to have a terrific response from the community. There will be something for everyone.  It’s going to be the tikkun olam event of the year!” said Women’s Philanthropy President Rhonda Goldberg.

The Federation welcomes businesses or individuals who would like to make in-kind donations to help defray costs for this event.  In addition, there are a few opportunities available for organizations to participate as a project site.

For more information, contact Debbie Peskin, Women’s Philanthropy Director, at (413) 737-4313 x121.

This program is sponsored by Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts, and is supported in part by a grant from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.
