Passover in the Aisles to be Held at 3 Locations
SPRINGFIELD — The Try A Synagogue program will sponsor its popular “Passover in the Aisles” program at three area locations this year: Brightwood Hardware and Starbucks in Longmeadow, and Stop & Shop in East Longmeadow. “Passover in the Aisles” will be held at these locations on Sunday, March 25 and Sunday, April 1 from 1 –3 p.m.
Volunteers will be stationed at tables outside Brightwood Hardware and Starbucks, and in the Passover aisle at Stop & Shop to answer questions about the holiday, distribute
information on how to conduct a Seder, provide interesting recipes, and offer samples of Passover treats.
As one of the most widely celebrated Jewish holidays in the U.S., Passover provides an outstanding opportunity for reaching out to unaffiliated and intermarried Jews.
The Try A Synagogue program was launched in 2010 in an effort to encourage synagogue membership within the greater Springfield Jewish community. This program
is underwritten by the three participating synagogues, Congregation B’nai Torah (Orthodox) of Longmeadow, Sinai Temple (Reform) and Temple Beth El (Conservative)
of Springfield, along with the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts and a grant from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.
A special promotional membership rate is being offered for any of the three participating synagogues. Individuals and families who have not been a member of a synagogue for three years or more can join any of the synagogues for just $365 for the first year, and $550 for the second year. This represents a significant savings compared to regular membership dues.
