Harold Solomon, 87, of Springfield, died April 24 at Baystate Medical Center. He was the husband of Doris (Wilansky) Solomon. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he was a graduate of Classical High School class of 1942, and was a resident of Springfield for the past 70 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in Company B of the 3rd Armored Division. He was the owner of the former Superior Food Products in East Longmeadow, and then he worked as a jewelry manager for Paysaver. Upon retirement, he was a delivery driver for the former Bliss Pharmacy in Longmeadow. He was a member of Temple Beth El and the City of Homes Assn. He was a Mason, a member of the Melha Shrine, and a member of their Legion of Honor. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Mark Solomon of Springfield, Diane (Morrie) Korman of Longmeadow, and Barry Solomon of Agawam; three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Bryan, and Alyssa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
