Estelle (Esther) Slossberg, 98, of Longmeadow, died June 5. She was the widow of Irving Slossberg. Originally from New York, Mrs. Slossberg moved to Springfield in 1969, and then to Longmeadow in 2003. While in Springfield and Longmeadow, she worked for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company for 35 years before retiring at the age of 90. She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Rosenthal of Longmeadow; two grandchildren, Amy Leon and her husband, Gerry, of Ashland, Mass., and Lawrence Rosenthal and his wife, Lorraine, of Hebron, Kentucky; and two great-grandchildren, Megan and Katie Leon. She was predeceased by three brothers, Leo Wurtzel, Albert Wurtzel, and Bernard Wurtzel; and a son-in-law, Sheldon M. Rosenthal. Memorial contributions may be mace to the Joslin Diabetes Center, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, or Jewish Geriatric Services.
