Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy (LYA) Early Childhood students enjoyed a visit to the Longmeadow Fire Station on Wednesday, Oct. 10. The firemen took the students on a tour of the facility, where they visited their living quarters, kitchen and work space. Longmeadow Fire Fighters showed children and their parents important ways to stay safe from fire. The students even had an opportunity to climb into the fire trucks and learn about the fire suits worn. They received fire hats and coloring books. Upon returning to LYA, students reflected on their trip and wrote thank you letters to the Longmeadow Fire Department.
“My favorite part of the trip was pretending to drive the fire truck,” wrote Mendel Buckberg, age four.
