Candy Glazer Serves as Elector

candy glazerSPRINGFIELD – Candy Glazer, chair of the Longmeadow Democratic Town Committee, served as an Elector to the Electoral College at the State House in Boston on Monday, Dec. 17. Glazer announced the “official vote tally” for President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joseph Biden at the Electoral College ceremony after the votes were cast. She is seen here with Bishop Bryant J. Robinson Jr., pastor of the Macedonia Church in Springfield, the church that was struck by an arson fire on the night of President Obama’s election in November 2008. Bishop Robinson gave the invocation at the Electoral College ceremony.
“It is a great local and national story — how the  community joined together to re-build the  church and how the feeling of good will, love over hate, and determination developed,” Glazer said. “The historic significance of having Bishop Bryant Robinson Jr. give the invocation at the Electoral College in Boston to re-elect President Barack Obama is very special.”
