flag obituariesWilliam Harold Leader, 95, died Feb. 22 at Baystate Medical Center. He was the husband of Sylvia Leader. He grew up in Chicopee and Springfield. After serving as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II, he opened a series of bowling alleys in Springfield, Amherst, and Greenfield, and eventually opened a photography studio in Springfield. In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by three sons, Robert, Alan, and Richard; a brother, George Leader, and his wife, Hannah; nephews, Jack and Roy Leader, Gary Hochman, Jeffrey Davidson, and Richard Davidson; and nieces, Amy Hochman and Nancy Davidson.  He was predeceased by a sister, Eileen Durburow  and her daughter Diane Durburow; a sister Shirley and her husband Emanuel Manny Davidson, and their daughter, Judy;  and his brother-in-law Irving Hochman and sister-in-law Fran Hochman.
