Holidays are fun times at Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy (LYA) and this Purim was no different. The Purim celebration began Saturday, Feb. 23 with a crowd of over 130 who came to hear the megillah and enjoy Maggie the Clown. On Sunday, Feb. 24 LYA Rabbis spread the holiday story by reading the megillah for many community members at LYA, Glenmeadow, and Springfield Jewish Community Center and in private homes. LYA PTO organized a successful Mishloach Manot, food gift, fundraiser and volunteers delivered over 350 gift packages to families in the area. Purim ended with Purim on a Shtetl that drew over 130 people, who enjoyed a four course dinner, live music and petting zoo provided by Forest Park Zoo.
