AMHERST – The Yiddish Book Center has appointed Zvi Jankelowitz to the position of director of Institutional Advancement.
As Director of Institutional Advancement, Jankelowitz will partner with the Center’s president, executive director and board to design and implement the strategy to further the Center’s fundraising efforts and plan and execute a campaign to significantly grow the Center’s endowment.
“Having rescued a million Yiddish books, we’re determined to make them accessible, translate the best into English, and help young people everywhere discover the whole story of modern Jewish culture. Our long-term vision requires long-term support, and that’s where Zvi comes in. With his knowledge, experience, and determination, he’s the perfect person for the job,” said Aaron Lansky, founder and president of the Yiddish Book Center.
Prior to joining the staff of the Yiddish Book Center, Jankelowitz headed his own fundraising consulting practice, The Jankelowitz Group. He was director of Institutional Advancement at the Harvard Museum of Natural History, and also served in director-level positions at Cohen Hillel Academy, American Friends of Israel National Museum of Science, and The Rashi School.
A native of South Africa, Jankelowitz holds a master’s degree from Brandeis University’s Hornstein Program in Professional Jewish Leadership.
