Murray Aaron Candib, 97, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Springfield, died June 7. He was the husband of Claudette Candib and Maureen Davis. Born in Chelsea, Mass., he was the son of the late Fannie and Jacob Candib. He founded King’s Department Stores in Springfield in 1949. The chain grew to more than 200 stores. He moved to Miami Beach in the 1960’s. He was a Shriner and was honored by Mahi Shrine for his 50 years as a Shriner. In addition to his wife, Maureen, he is survived by four children, Nancy Candib, Rachel Candib, David (Vanessa) Candib and Caroline Candib; seven step-children, Marisa (Mark) Yanta, Andrea (Gerry) Goldklang, Greg (Adriana) Davis, Geoff Davis, Sabrina Davis, Francesca Silvestri and Mark Chester; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
