Dr. Miriam I. Leveton , 90, of Longmeadow, died Aug. 5th. She was the widow of Nathan Leveton. A graduate of Smith College, she provided professional services as Inpatient Staff Psychologist at Springfield Hospital. She was an Associate Professor of Psychology at American International College. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Massachusetts in 1970. Her career lasted more than 46 years. She was a pioneer in developing community based mental health treatment programs for the state of Massachusetts, the first state to adopt this approach. For the past 23 she was a private practitioner in the areas of behavioral and clinical psychology. She is survived by a son, Jeff; a daughter, Lauren, and her husband, Joe Conroy; two grandchildren, Jacob and Natalie; a sister, Shirley; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, David; and a brother, Ralph.
