Howard R. Lurier, 83, of Worcester, died Nov. 26, at the Jewish Healthcare Center, after an illness. He was the husband of Dorothy L. (Feingold) Lurier. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Eli and Miriam (Goodman) Lurier. A graduate of Bentley College, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War. As an investment financial advisor, he opened the investment firm of A.G. Edwards in Worcester and was its vice president for more than 30 of the 47 years he was in the investment field. He was a member of Temple Emanuel and was a member of Temple Emanuel’s Financial Committee for many years. He was a past president of
Mt. Pleasant Country Club. He was a member of the Jewish Healthcare Center and the Level Lodge of Masons. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Peter Lurier of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Ellen Lurier and her husband, Jim Anderson of Sutton; a brother, Edward Lurier and his wife, Joan, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy and Carly Lurier. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
