Rabbi Aryeh Klapper to serve as Scholar-in-Residence at B’nai Torah

LONGMEADOW – Rabbi Aryeh Klapper will be the scholar-in-residence at Congregation B’nai Torah, 2 Eunice Drive, on Feb. 7-8.
Rabbi Klapper is dean of the Center for Modern Torah Leadership and Rosh Beit Midrash of its Summer Beit Midrash program, Instructor of Rabbinics and Medical Ethics at Gann Academy, and a member of the Boston Beit Din.
Mincha services on Friday, Feb. 7 will be at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and lecture at 6 p.m. Rabbi Klapper’s talk will be “You Say You’re Jewish – Should We Believe You?”
On Saturday, Feb. 8, morning Shabbat services will be held at 9 a.m., followed by a drasha by Rabbi Klapper, “Trading the Baby for the Bathwater: The Rabbanut, Rabbi Avi Weiss and The RCA (Rabbinical Council of America) at 10:30 a.m. Rabbi Klapper will also speak at mincha and seudah shlishis on “What is Jewish Identity?” at 4:45 p.m.
