Harold Lawrence Kaiser, 91, of Greenfield, died Feb. 27. He was the widower of Jessie Grant Kaiser. Born in Holyoke, he was the son of the late William and Celia Kaiser. He graduated from Holyoke High School and attended American International College. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the proprietor of Pure Food Market. For the last 20 years, he was manager of the Northampton Welfare Food Stamp Office. He was active in the Congregation Rodphey Sholom, B’nai Brith, Civitan, JCC Senior Net, and the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by three children, Kenneth and his wife, Joan, of Becket and Florida, Karen (Cookie) Klavan and her husband, David, of Israel, and Sarena Brechenser of Greenfield; a brother, Arnold and his wife, Betty, of California; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Jackie Robinovitz; and a son-in-law, Donn Brechenser. Memorial contributions may be made to Cong.
