WESTERN MASS. – Six area nonprofit organizations will offer a women’s financial literacy seminar in April entitled “The Heart of Money: Finding Your Financial Voice.”
The goal is to strengthen women’s financial literacy and help enable them to take better financial care of themselves, their families, and their communities.
The event, expected to draw 300 women from throughout the Pioneer Valley, will take place on Friday, April 4, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Log Cabin in Holyoke.
Partnering to produce the conference are Bay Path College’s Financial Pathways Program; the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts; the Harold Grinspoon Foundation; The Jewish Endowment Foundation of Western Massachusetts; United Way of the Pioneer Valley; and the Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts.
Amanda Steinberg of DailyWorth, named one of the top 100 best websites for women by Forbes Magazine, will deliver the keynote address on women and investing. Breakout session topics will include: philanthropy and planned giving; negotiating; saving for college and retirement; and caring for parents financially. Speakers will include Eleanor Blayney, Audrey Lee, Loretta Hutchinson, Carol Katz and Ellen Estes. A luncheon panel of local female executives will end the conference.
Admission is $25. Participants are asked to register in advance at www.heartofmoney.org. Breakfast and lunch will be served.
