Gloria Aronson Mador, 92, died March 29 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was the widow of Milton E. Mador. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late George Aronson and Pauline Winitsky Aronson and the step-daughter of the late Molly Baron Aronson. A lifelong member of Temple Beth El, she was an active member of the Sisterhood and served as president of the B’nai Brith organization. Later on, she became an accomplished baker. In the Springfield Jewish Community Center’s drama group, Center Players, she served in a variety of capacities as well as acting on stage. She was a co-creator of the Roundabout Theater. She is survived by a sister, Frances Chiz of Longmeadow; a daughter, Susan Burnim and her husband, Paul; a son, Paul Charles and his wife, Vicki Shore; grandchildren, Robyn Bowen and her husband David Hohenwald, Dean Brackman, Gregg Brackman and his wife Amy, Jessica Mador, Jeremy Mador and his wife Jennifer, Kayla Burnim and Sam Burnim; 10 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Beth El, Springfield,MA or Perkins School for the Blind, Watertown, MA.
