Elaine (Abramoff) Palley, 87, of Worcester, died March 31 at UMass Memorial Healthcare. She was the wife of Julius Palley. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ida (Abramoff) Bloom. She attended Worcester Public Schools and Salter College. She was a volunteer aid at the Glavin Center, Worcester State Hospital and Westboro State Hospital. She also volunteered as a school librarian for the Worcester Public School System. She was a member of Beth Israel Synagogue’s Sisterhood, National Council of Jewish Women, Hadassah, and the Jewish Healthcare Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Jane Weintraub and her husband, Bennett, Candace Casey and her husband, P. Joseph Casey, and Jonathan Palley and his wife, Natalie; grandchildren, Jesse, Daniel, Rebecca, Benjamin, Alexander, Sarah, Harry, and Max; a sister, Ruth and her husband, Lloyd Marks; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Evelyn Levine and Marcia Zwecher; and a brother, Sidney Bloom.
