NORTHAMPTON – On Thursday, May 22, Lander-Grinspoon Academy’s combined third/fourth grades had a day-long field trip to the Federal Courthouse in Springfield. This visit was the culmination of their social justice curriculum. During the day the students toured the Court House, met with an FBI agent, visited the U.S. Marshal’s office, spent time with an ATF Special Agent and spoke with Judge Michael Ponsor. Their mock trial, the United States vs. Rachel Rosen and John Pax was conducted in an actual courtroom with many families and friends in attendance (some even served on the jury).
