Charles “Chuck” Aronson, 86, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Worcester, died July 31. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Slade) Aronson. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Joseph and Ruby (Kaufman) Aronson. He graduated from Worcester Academy and from Bowling Green of Ohio. He was a longtime member of Temple Emanuel and Mount Pleasant Country Club. He was president of Aronson Tire Company, a local tire distributor, founded by his father in 1919, which he owned and operated until he retired. He established and manufactured Bandag Products and started a private label wholesale business when he moved the business out of Worcester and expanded to Auburn in 1968. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert J. Aronson of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Joni Aronson of Boca Raton; a daughter-in-law, Linda Aronson of Northborough; and three grandchildren, Michael Aronson, Jaclyn Aronson and Spenser Aronson.
