Louis (Lou) Beron, 89, of Longmeadow, died Aug. 26. He was the husband of Irene (Bloom) Beron. Born in Springfield, he was the son of Abraham and Eva Okun. He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Beron Sirk. After graduating from Springfield Technical High School, he entered the Navy, was a quartermaster on the U.S.S. Greer during World War II and a lifetime member of the Tin Can Sailors upon his retirement from the Navy. He was a men’s clothing buyer, manager and salesman for Lou Dramin, Yale Genton and Steiger’s. He was a lifelong member of the Melha Shrine serving in the Brigham Lodge and the Mariners units. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Joan; son-in-law, Paul Sorkin; and granddaughter, Brenna Sorkin of Belmont.
