Seymour “Sy” Shotland, 94, of Enfield, Conn., formerly of Manhattan, N.Y., died Jan. 4 at Baystate Medical Center. He was the husband of Phyllis (Slone) Shotland for 66 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 12th Division in North Africa as a medic. After his service to the country he attended NYU. He was self-employed and was in sales for over 50 years. He was a member of Sinai Temple and their Men’s Club and the Springfield JCC. He was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Vicki Shotland of Longmeadow; two grandchildren, Brian Andrew Shotland and Emily Rachel Shotland; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Dr. Ian L. Shotland; and a granddaughter, Amy Lyons Shotland. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
