Merna Lyon D’Agostino, 79, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Longmeadow, died Feb. 15 after a 15-year fight with lung cancer. She was the wife of Samuel D’Agostino. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of Max and Pauline Goldberg. She was a member of Junior League, Hadassah, Crestview Country Club, Twin Hills Country Club and Temple Beth El. In Boca Raton, she volunteered at Boca Helping Hands and participated in countless charitable golf tournaments. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Cynthia Lyon Marinstein (Jeff Marinstein), of Stamford, Conn., Amy Lyon (Jonathan Smylie), of Wilmington, N.C.; and J. B. Lyon (Kim Syman), of Lexington; and grandchildren, Tovia Lyon Marinstein, Carly Batya Marinstein, Max Louis Saffer (Veronica Velasquez), Abraham Lyon, Ko Lyon and Theo Lyon; her D’Agostino family members, Nancy Patierno, Ralph D’Agostino, Paul D’Agostino, Mary Walsh, Sam D’Agostino, Grayce Flumerfelt, Lisa Rose; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marcia Albert (Howard Albert) and Ellen Fieldstein (Maurice Fieldstein); and her nieces, nephews and cousins.
