Anita (Saperstein) Sharpe, 91, died April 2 at the Fisher Hospice in Amherst. She was the widow of Arnold Sharpe. Born in Herkimer, N.Y., she graduated from Rider College in New Jersey in 1944. She and her husband worked side-by-side for 31 years as proprietors of Arnold’s Fabrics, a retail store in Gardner, Mass. She was president of the Ohave Sholem Sisterhood, vice president of the Western New England Region of Hadassah, and president of the Gardner Duplicate Bridge Club. She was a longtime volunteer at Heywood Hospital and elsewhere. She is survived by three children, Michael Sharpe, Gary Sharpe and his wife, Jeri, and Gail Lansky and her husband, Aaron; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Sasha and Chava; a sister-in-law, Rose Saperstein; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heywood Library in Gardner, the Fisher House Hospice in Amherst, and the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst.
