Zane Paul Wernick, 95, of Longmeadow and Key Biscayne, Fla., died April 14 at home. He was the husband of Dorothy (Friedman) Wernick. Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late Jacob and Miriam Wernick. A retired real estate broker and developer, he founded Zane Wernick Company Realtors and was a member of NAREB, FLB and CCIM. He was a member of Temple Beth El and was a founding member of Crestview Country Club. In 1976, he endowed the Wernick Adult Day Health Care Center at the Jewish Nursing Home. He was a supporter of Jewish Geriatric Services, a patron of the Jewish Endowment Foundation of Western Massachusetts, and a member of the William Rice Society of the Springfield Museum. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Miriam Wernick of Agawam and Hope Wernick Wigmore of Simsbury, Conn.; a son-in-law, Mark Wigmore; three grandchildren, Kelsea, Zachary and Ana Wigmore, and many nieces and nephews.
