Mazel Tov Mak’hela!

Mak’hela: The Jewish Chorus of Western Massachusetts concluded its 13th season with a special “Bar/Bat Mitzvah” concert on Sunday, May 15 at Congregation Sons of Zion in Holyoke. In keeping with the “Bar/Bat Mitzvah” theme, the musical offerings were interspersed with “aliyot” by the group’s founders, Allen Davis and Susan Rosenberg; the group’s original music director, Kayla Werlin; former members and season sponsors; and local elected officials.

“In true Jewish tradition, we see 13 seasons of Mak’hela as a tremendous milestone, and a ‘Bar/Bat Mitzvah’ as the appropriate way to celebrate this milestone,” said Mak’hela Music Director Dr. Elaine “Lainee” Broad Ginsberg.
