Howard J. Green, 89, of Worcester, died Aug. 31 at Starr Farm Nursing Home in Burlington, Vt. He was the widower of Phyllis (Allen) Green. He graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and for many years he and his brother owned and operated Green Bros. of Worcester, brokers of machine tools. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. He was a member of Worcester Lodge of B’nai Brith and the Irving Yarock Jewish War Veterans Post # 32. He was very active in the WPI Alumni and had been a past president of the National Machinery Dealers Association. He is survived by a son, David Green and his wife, Peggy, of Burlington, VT; three daughters, Leslie Etedgee and her husband, David, of Worcester, Stephanie Levy and her husband, Steven, of Brunswick, Maine, and Carrie Zinn and her husband, Daniel, of Alameda, Calif.; a sister, Sybil Suvalsky, of Milwaukee, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Seth and Noah Levy, Lindsey and Casey Green, Sivan Etedgee and his wife, Sarah Failla, Talia Brown and her husband, Geoff, Amalia Blumberg and her husband, Sam, and Zaria and Aleeza Zinn; and three great-grandchildren, Emanuel Etedgee, Ezra Brown, and Zamir Blumberg. He was predeceased by a brother, Arnold Green.
