Philip Shack, 94, died Dec. 15 at home. He was the husband of Audrey (Lieder) Shack. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Israel and Jenny (Bloomberg) Shack and was a lifelong resident. He was an Army Veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific. He was the founder, owner and operator of Shack’s Clothes in Fitchburg. He was a co-owner of Shack’s Clothes in Worcester and in Auburn. He was a member of Temple Emanuel Sinai and a former member of Mt. Pleasant Country Club in Boylston. He served on the building committee of Temple Sinai. He was also a member of the Worcester Lodge of B’nai Brith. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jill Shack of Worcester and Wendy Lubkin and her husband, Richard, of Rye Brook, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Julie Birns of Tucson, AZ, Amanda Roth and her husband, Mark, of Dix Hills, NY, Elizabeth Asher and her husband, Ryan, of Boston, Benjamin Lubkin of San Francisco and Alexander Lubkin of Rye Brook, NY; and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Jeremy Roth. He was predeceased by a daughter, Helane Shack; a great-grandson, Jacob Roth; his brothers, Arthur, Al and Lou Shack; and his sisters, Dorothy Freedman, Gertrude Shack and Sara Shack.
