LGA students have participated in Stamp Out Hunger Day since 2011.
On Monday, May 8, a staff member from the Northampton Survival Center spoke to the students about food insecurity in our community. Later that morning, LGA students canvassed neighborhoods within walking distance of the school to distribute bags provided by the NSC for residents to fill with non-perishable food items to be left by their mailbox for pick up on Saturday, May 13. “Tikkun Olam, repairing the world, is a foundational component of Judaism, and so, giving back to the community is an essential part of our curriculum,” said Deborah Bromberg Seltzer, LGA’s principal.
