Toby (Noar) Richmond, 74, of Worceaster, died June 18 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Charles “Chuck” Richmond.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Abraham and Annie L. (Kugle) Noar. She was a graduate of Classical High School’s class of 1960, and graduated from Becker Jr. College with an associate’s degree in accounting. She was chief financial officer at Martin Tire, which she co-owned with her husband Chuck. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel Synagogue, current President of the Jewish Federation of Central Massachusetts, a life member of Hadassah, past President of the Jewish Healthcare Center, and past President of the Ladies Auxillary of the Jewish Healthcare Center. She was a former member of the board of directors of the Jewish Healthcare Center, Temple Sinai and Jewish Family Services. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Eric and his wife, Maria; a daughter, Sue Levy and her husband, Farron; and her grandchildren, Connor, Caitlyn, Harrison, Ayala, Sabina and Ellery. She was predeceased by two brothers, Myron “Mike” and Bernard “Bucky” Noar; and a sister, Harriet Gruber. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at Congregation Beth Israel on Thursday, June 22, with immediate interment in B’Nai Brith Cemetery. Memorial observance will be announced.
