Thurman Pava, 90, died Sept. 27 at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow. He was the widower of Dorothy Pava. Born in Springfield, he was the son of Abraham and Edith Pava. He was a graduate of Brown University after serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He owned four Gas Mart gas stations before establishing and operating Rosa’s Candy, where he marketed Rosa’s Fudge. He is survived by a brother, Norman and his wife, Purita; a nephew, David Thurman Pava and his wife, Lynn Goh-Pava; four stepdaughters, Barbara Spiro and her husband, Lou, Laurie Shelasky and her husband, Ed, Sue Lucia and her husband, Andy, and Ellen Wright and her husband, Dave; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
