Rachel’s Table Foodraiser on Nov. 5

LONGMEADOW – The Rachel’s Table Foodraiser contest will be held on Sunday, Nov. 5 at the Longmeadow Big Y, 802 Williams St., from 10 a.m. to noon.

Participants attempt to buy the most food for the least amount of dollars spent. Prizes are awarded for the greatest savings and all the food purchased will be donated directly to the agencies of Rachel’s Table. Last year, shoppers garnered more than $13,000 worth of much needed groceries.

The $5 entrance fee is tax deductible and includes a t-shirt and refreshments.

The event is supported by New England Orthopedic Surgeons and The Harold Grinspoon Foundation.

Those unable to attend can shop virtually by sponsoring a youth team to shop for you for with a tax-deductible contribution in any amount to Rachel’s Table 1160 Dickinson St. Springfield, MA 01108. Include a note saying it’s for the Foodraiser sponsorship. Every penny will be spent on the fight against hunger.

To participate, contact Debbie Rubenstein at (413) 733-0084 or or just come by on Nov. 5.
