Bernice Ruth (Rubinwitch) Kalicka of Longmeadow, died Nov. 6. She was the widow of Joe Kalicka. Born in Holyoke, she was the daughter of the late Lena and Edward Rubinwitch. A 1942 graduate of Holyoke High School, she furthered her studies at the University of Vermont and graduated from the Boston Dispensary School for Medical Technicians.  She worked with her husband as a bookkeeper and tax return preparer in his accounting firm, Joseph D. Kalicka and Company, until their retirement in 1991. She is survived by two children, Judy (Ted) Ingis and David (Jan) Kalicka; grandchildren Elizabeth (Sanjay) Ramaswamy, Rebecca (Eric) Ingis Epstein, Jeffrey Kalicka and Abigail Kalicka; great-grandchildren Zachary and Aaron Ramaswamy and Daniel and Alex Epstein; a brother, Kenneth Rubinwitch; and a niece, Sharon Nuger Levy. She was a silver life master in bridge. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother. She helped found the Forer Nursery and Day School at Congregation Rodphey Sholom in Holyoke in the early 1950s.  She was on the board of directors of the Holyoke Hospital Aid Association, the Holyoke chapter of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, the sisterhood of Congregation Rodphey Sholom and the Holyoke Jewish Community Center. She was president of the Holyoke chapter of Hadassah and treasurer and vice president of the Western Mass region of Hadassah. She was listed in Dr. Marcella Kelly’s book, Holyoke Women Who Made a Difference 1873-1973.
