Roney (Runka Feuer) Lilie, 98, died Nov. 9 at home. She was the widow of Richard Lilie. Born in Jaroslav, Poland, she was the daughter of Fannie and Jehudah Feuer. She was a Holocaust survivor. She came to America in 1949 and settled in New York City, where she worked in various hospitals. After her marriage, she moved to Springfield where she and her husband ran Rugcraft. They were connected to other Holocaust survivors in Springfield and helped to found Club Hatikvah, an organization that provided “family” for those who had lost their own. She was a member of Sinai Temple, the Springfield Jewish Community Center, Women’s American ORT, and Haddassah. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Jerold) Kassner of Norton, and Elaine (Matthew) Weiner of Longmeadow; four grandsons, Jason (Lindsay) Weiner, Noah (Katya) Weiner, Jonathan (Heidi) Kassner, and Daniel Kassner; and seven great-grandchildren, Talia, Ari, Max, Charlotte, Charlie, Arthur, and Sofia. Memorial contributions may be made to Sinai Temple, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial, or to the Glenmeadow Staff Education Fund.
