Barry A. Freelander, 77, of Auburn, died Nov. 22 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Judith A. (Reynolds) Freelander. Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Jacob and Adeline (Saltzman) Freelander. He graduated from Highlands High School in California. He worked as a pressman for the Woodbury Company for many years and as a security officer for Astra Zeneca before he retired. He also served as a soccer referee. In addition to his wife of 41 years, he is survived by two children, Jack E. Freelander of Seattle, Wash., and Jennifer A. Girardi and her husband, Christian, of Shrewsbury; two grandchildren, Emma and Michael Girardi; a brother, Joel Freelander and his wife, Riva, of Chapel Hill, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
