Lois (Pasteelnick) Schuman, 90, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Chicopee, died May 13. She was the widow of Norman Schuman. Born in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Anne and Ira Pasteelnick. Upon graduating high school she worked in various positions, including The Drakes Cake Factory, where she met her husband. She and her family moved to Massachusetts and she began working as a claims adjuster for The Travelers Insurance Company. They later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, San Jose, Calif., and Toms River, N.J. She was an avid participant in the Green Briar Woodlands Chorus and Drama Groups and she also volunteered with the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. She is survived by a son, Ken and his wife, MaryEllen, of Utah; a daughter, Midje Theulen and her husband, Mike, of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Natalie McClintock and her husband, Colin, Madeline Schuman, and Zach and Jessica Theulen; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard. Memorial contributions may be made in Lois’s honor to the local ASPCA.
