Family Fun: Apples, music and blowing the shofar

On Sept. 16, PJ Library of Western Massachusetts and Northampton Jewish institutions Congregation B’nai Israel, Gan Keshet Preschool, Lander~Grinspoon Academy, and Beit Ahavah – The Reform Synagogue of the Greater Northampton, came together for a High Holiday apple-picking and Jewish family gathering at Park Hill Orchard in Easthampton. Nearly 100 people were in attendance for music, shofar blowing lessons, a story blanket and apple printmaking. And, of course, plenty of delicious apples were enjoyed as well. There was also a special gathering with Northampton PJ Library Neighborhood Captains. It was a wonderful chance for families raising Jewish children to connect and enjoy a lovely day outside together.
