Dr. Herbert F. Fisher, 97, of Worcester, formerly of Long Island, N.Y., died at home Dec. 23. He was the husband of Roslyn Fisher. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a graduate of Erasmus High School in Brooklyn, City College of New York and University of Pennsylvania Dental School. He served two years in the Army Dental Corps in World War II and was honorably discharged as a captain. He practiced general dentistry for 57 years on Long Island. He was a founding member of Congregation Etz Chaim and the Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Community Center. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Jayne Fisher of Worcester; his grandchildren, Valerie Philmus, and her husband, Rabbi Aaron Philmus, and Benjamin Fisher and his wife, Micaela O’Shaughnessy; and two great-grandchildren, Sophie and Aeden.
