Elaine E. Friedman, 92, of Paxton died after a brief illness June 15. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, George Friedman. The daughter of the late Samuel Ephraim and her stepmother, Betty Vigdor, she was raised in Worcester and spent a good period of her youth at the Jewish Home for Aged and Orphans on Pleasant Street. She graduated from Classical High school and worked many years as an office assistant and secretary at the Carl Burwick Company. After marrying, she worked as mother and housewife and then as a fashion sales agent at the Ivy Shop in Tatnuck Square. She is survived by three children, Bobbye Samdahl of Paxton, Gary Friedman of Stratham, N.H., and Andrew Friedman of Milton, Ga.; a brother, Melvin Ephraim of Boise, Idaho; and six grandchildren, Emily and Maxwell Friedman, Jamie and Jesse Samdahl, and Bradley and Mitchell Friedman. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, 01609.
