Alexander Sokolovsky, 90, of Holden, died July 11 in St. Vincent Hospital. He was the husband of Rosa (Shifrin) Sokolovsky. Born in Odessa, Ukraine, he was the son of Joseph and Bertha (Trinkman) Sokolovsky. He was a resident of Holden for 27 years. He graduated Odessa Polytechnic Institute and was a mechanical engineer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Vitaly Sokolovsky and his wife, Elina, of Holden; a daughter, Tatyana Gorodetsky, and her husband, Jacob, of Holden; a sister, Polina Sokolovskaya of New York City; and five grandchildren.
