Freda Seltzer Hatch, 92, of Longmeadow, died Aug. 15. She was the wife of the late Samuel Edward “Eddie” Hatch. Born in Providence, R.I., she was the daughter of Israel and Tillie Friedman Seltzer. After graduating from Hope High School on the East Side of Providence, she relocated to the Springfield area in the 1950s. After working at Corb Baking Company in Providence and as a bookkeeper in Springfield, she devoted her time to being a housewife. She was a member of Congregation B’nai Torah in Longmeadow, and had been a longtime member of Kodimoh Synagogue in Springfield, which merged with B’nai Torah several years ago. She is survived by two children, David Hatch and Tracy Schneider; a son-in-law, Dr. Bruce Schneider; three grandchildren, Alex Schneider and his wife, Arielle Wittenberg, and Gabe and Dalia Schneider. She was predeceased by four sisters, Pearl Jacobson, Edith Moses, Lillian Tariff and Ida Seltzer Abrams.
