Ruth G. Auerbach, 94, a lifelong resident of Longmeadow, died Nov. 11. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Milton Auerbach. She attended local schools and was a graduate of the Columbia School of Dental Hygiene. She was a licensed dental hygienist in Springfield for almost 50 years, working first for her father and then for her husband. She was active in many community organizations including Temple Beth El and its Sisterhood as well as Hadassah. She volunteered at the Dakin Humane Society (SPCA) and at the Baystate and Sarasota, Florida Hospitals. She is survived by a daughter, Su Auerbach and her husband, Matt Kaplowitz, of Amherst and New York City; a son, Harry Auerbach and his wife, Karen, of Longmeadow; a son-in-law, Allan Kantrowitz of Denver, Colo; four grandchildren, Anna Kaplowitz, Jennie Melnik and her husband, Jared, Elyssa Tosh and her husband, Jeremy, and Joshua Auerbach; and two great grand-children, Jordan Melnik and Jacob Melnik.
