Erwin S. Bilsky, 93, of Longmeadow, died Jan. 22. He was the husband of Betty (Gerber) Bilsky. Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late Jacob and Anna Bilsky. Enlisting in the U.S. Army at the age of 17, he served honorably as an x-ray technician for the duration of World War II and was discharged in 1946. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts. He entered into his family’s clothing wholesale business before starting the Schuyler Company, which owned and operated for almost 40 years before retiring in 1991. He was a Shriner and a Mason and was a founding member and supporter of the Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy when it was built on Converse Street in Longmeadow. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Salena (Blake); a son, Edward and his wife, Jill (Ramberg); three grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, and Jessica; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Florence Mazer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy
