Richard Lipson, 90, of Worcester, died Feb. 20 at UMass Memorial-University Campus, Worcester. He was the widower of Patricia (Solod) Lipson. Born and raised in Worcester, he was the son of Robert and Rose (Goodman) Lipson. He was a graduate of Classical High School, class of 1948. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard and later in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a First Lieutenant and paratrooper. He graduated from the University of Texas with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He owned and operated Richard Yale Industries in Worcester for 20 years and later worked for Flynn Petroleum until his retirement in 2019. He is survived by a son, Steven M. Lipson and his partner, Donna McKinney, of Millbury; a daughter, Trayce Lipson Bahar and her husband, Izak, of Delaware; four grandchildren, Jessica Lipson and her fiancé, Duncan, Michael Lipson and his fiancée, Jenna, Rachel Bahar and Robert Bahar and his fiancée, Morgan. He was predeceased by three sisters, Marsha Sheppard, Lillian Griff and Ruth Blustein.
